Early Help Offer in School
We are very lucky to be able to support pupils and families in a number of ways.
We have our learning mentor, Tina Salmon, who works with us on Mondays and Tuesdays. She can support families with a wide range of issues such as routines, behaviour, benefits, housing, food banks, hygiene, medical needs. She can be reached by calling school.
We also employ a play therapist who works with us every Wednesday. She can support children and parents with more complex needs.
See the leaflet below for more information on our Early Help offer:
Family Hubs
Our local Family Hub is at The Park in Accrington. Here you can find lots of activities and support. Click the website link for more information:

Operation Encompass
Often schools hear about domestic abuse incidents far too late for them to help the child/ren and family. Operation Encompass has been created to address this so that by 9.00am on the next school day the school’s Key Adult will be informed that the child or young person has been involved, heard or witnessed a domestic incident. This knowledge, given to schools through Operation Encompass, allows the provision of immediate early intervention through silent or overt support dependent upon the needs and wishes of the child.
This is a valuable initiative that means we can help and support students and their families within our school when they need us most.
The Key Adult at Saint Mary's is Mrs Wolstenholme.
