Religious Education
Our Curriculum
At St Mary's, every pupil will receive tailored Religious Education that meets their individual needs and abilities. Our dedicated teachers will integrate Religious Education into various activities, real-life experiences, and opportunities for prayer and worship, following our comprehensive curriculum.
Pupils will be encouraged to take responsibility for their actions and relationships while caring for themselves, each other, and the environment. We will support and collaborate with local parish and diocesan efforts, and provide pupils with opportunities to engage with global issues through charitable organisations.
Through Religious Education, we aim to help pupils understand how beliefs shape people’s lives, fostering mutual respect and cooperation between Christianity and other faiths.
At Saint Mary's, we teach the scheme Come and See which is recommended by Salford Diocese. Below, you can see further details of how this looks in our classes:
Learning About and Learning From Other Faiths:
At Saint Mary's all our pupils in all classes study Judaism and one other faith throughout the year.
We have also taken part in Inter-Faith week where we have partnered pupils of differing faiths from classes and discussed elements of our own faiths together.
