Summer Term

What a year! We are all so ready for some fun in the sun… The children have been brilliant and Summer Term is as busy as ever!

Our English learning progresses to our Fantasy novel Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief The class will cover a range of text types including persuasive letter writing, non-chronological reports and instruction texts as well as focusing on building our comprehension skills. We will also develop our performance and role play technique.  Additionally, we shall revisit and revise the GaPS learning for year six. 

In Maths we revise all key skills and also cover shape and geometry in further detail. Our Catholic RE curriculum follows Witnesses, Healing, Reconciliation and Common Good. We aim to focus in PSHE on relationships and moving on to Secondary education in order to best prepare the children for their onward journey to High School. 

Geography is centred around Mountains, Volcanoes and Earthquakes. We have a 'Great Year 6 Bake Off' in DT and cover Materials, Light and Electricity in Science.
